recess week - a week in the middle of the semester where there will be no classes so that you can have a break after your midterms or in other cases, spend the week studying for your midterms. and this is my last one.
my recess week this semester is pretty much filled with fyp as we will be having our finale week online for three consecutive days. so it's pretty much gone for me. but since i only have classes on mondays and wednesdays this semester, my recess week had pretty much started a little bit earlier than others so yay!
you might ask how i have been spending my week so far and it had been either on fyp or disney plus. hehe. we have wrapped up our exhibition at ntu and nus and i must say that i am quite surprised that there are people who would actually come and drop their empties at our exhibition! we have also received a couple of messages asking us if there would be collection points outside of our exhibition venues so it was really really encouraging to know that there are actually people interested in this cause that might not seem interesting at first.
and since my spanish test and korean speech test were over, i have watched aladdin, beauty & the beast, mulan and the princess diaries. what a throwback! i can't be spending all my time watching the shows though, there's a list of things to do for fyp especially our report so i really have to work on that when i have the time this coming week. i might also want to review some Spanish and Korean as well so that i won't struggle after recess week.
convocation for the class of 2020 will be taking place on the week after recess week which means online classes for us! for the first time, i won't have to wake up at 6.30am on monday and wednesday for my 9.30am Spanish class! but then again i wouldn't know how class would be like, like, if my teacher suddenly calls me out to answer a question which i don't understand. i'm scared especially for Korean. but oh well just have to get through this semester.
i have been actively searching and applying for full time jobs as well, in the public relations industry because that's where i had my internship experience at. even though my interest lies in lifestyle writing but i might be a little afraid to explore that... we'll see. can't believe we're nearing the end of february already!
all the love and till next time x
it scares me how fast time is flying by. i know i say this all the time, and it does not help that i tend to procrastinate a lot, including writing this post.
i have been spending this year doing three things - dance, fyp and work.
dance was mostly for sptc, my second sptc experience, my second mj-related performance. it was a ride throughout the two short months we had together. i got to learn a new genre of dance and exercise at the same time so cheers! we had dance practice every single day during the week leading up to sptc and it was insane - i had bruises and muscle aches every single day but i'm glad that our group managed to pull through together on competition day. despite having only one or two full strength practices, and despite the unforeseen circumstances we faced during the dry run. thanks for the experience, team cc!
i have also still been involved in amethyx's dance covers. we are not very active, but we are trying our best! it is tough to accommodate to everyone's schedules as we lead very different and busy lives, but we're still doing what we do. this pretty much means that i barely have time to do my own dance covers.. and the list of "dance covers i would love to do" have been growing. but, priorities.
i have been working part time since december. i see it as an extra income to earn during the semester. juggling my schedule can be tiring at times, but all good. oh and you don't have to remind me, i am actively looking for a full-time job. it is hard, but i'm trying.
we're onto the final lap of our final year project. we have exhibitions at ntu and nus these two weeks before we wrap up with our finale week in the first week of march. afterwards, we're left with our report and oral presentation and... graduation. i dread hearing that word because adulting lowkey scares me. but i can't avoid it all the time.
we're almost! halfway through my final semester in ntu. on top of fyp, i am taking two other modules - korean level 5 and spanish level 1. i have taken two language mods to fulfil the criteria for a minor in modern languages. i have figured that korean 5 may be too difficult for me and i might need to SU that module, so i'll be relying on spanish 1 for my minor fulfilment, which have been harder than i thought it to be.. but let's get it!
