exchange diaries #4

hello, i have not been updating my blog as much as i have imagined myself to be. and suddenly, i left three weeks of school here including finals, which means i left three weeks in busan before i go to seoul and fly back to singapore from there. not gonna lie, it is a bit overwhelming thinking about it. as much as i really do want to get out of school and not study in such a stressful environment, there have been some takeaways as well, in particular, the friends whom i've made here. i may not have made many friends, but i'm really really glad for the few whom i've got to know over the couple of months that i'm here, and to think that we probably won't be able to see each other again..
you know it's finals period when people are starting to go to the reading room in the dormitory to study, and when people are starting to eat more convenience store foods for their meals or ordering delivery food. as for me, i really wanted to go to seomyeon to do some shopping today and get my bus ticket to seoul as well but it had been raining since last night, the wind is really strong and the rain drops are going sideways. so plan aborted.
anyway, i went to seoul two weekends ago for dream concert! i had been watching dream concert on vlive through the screens ever since i got into seventeen like three years ago, and never would i have thought that i would actually be able to watch dream concert for myself at the venue in seoul. i got to see the boyz perform bloom bloom again, i finally got to see golden child, and i finally finally finally saw seventeen! i was actually among melodies, but i went to the carat zone during seventeen's performance and i'm glad i did. time passed so fast during the concert i could cry.
i went to church the next day as well but arrived pretty late, and had lunch with the campus disciples again (i'm still awkward) and met rachel and ken for dinner, visiting ewha and yonsei :'-)
i doubt anything interesting will be happening in my last three weeks here as finals are coming and a ton of assignments are due (yikes). but it's been an interesting semester so far.
till next time x

things do get better.
it has been around two weeks since midterms ended, and the school has become a more relaxed place again. but this is only going to be short lived as we have five weeks of school left including finals. i have gotten back all my midterms results and am actually pretty pleased with them. now as we prepare for finals, i have some group and individual projects to work on as well. if you read my previous post, you would know that i do not have any friends in one of the three classes that i'm taking. this past wednesday, i had to make an introductory speech in english in that class. in front of 60 over students whom i never talked to. but that was a turning point for me in that class. after my speech, one guy came and asked me where i learnt english from and complimented my english pronunciation, and in return i told him that i thought the locals' english was pretty good. it was a short conversation, but it actually made me happy that i was finally talking to someone in this class. afterwards, as i was sitting at a random table video calling my sister, two classmates from that class passed by, and we greeted one another. then suddenly, they walked back again, saying that they would like to be friends - and we talked for a good almost 20 minutes despite the small language barrier. this is something that i'm really very grateful for this past week i almost teared up. and even though the semester is ending soon, i only hope that this friendship can grow. i didn't get the name of the first guy, but thank you, jongmo and seungjae.
i had my first solo trip out of busan to gwangju for the sbs super concert and even though it was a short trip, it was fun because it was for free!!! i met asykin as well, and we got ground floor tickets. i'm so glad i got to see the boyz and watch bloom bloom and i did a dance cover as well which you can watch
here . :-) got to see bts, twice, txt, nflying, momoland, nature, cherry bullet, hong jinyoung and izone as well! there were some songs that i heard before on music shows, and some songs that i'm not very familiar with, but i enjoyed myself!
next weekend, i will be heading to seoul for dream concert and i'm pretty excited to finally be able to see seventeen and golden child!! i will also get to see the boyz again! but i am a bit scared about going home because going home from the gwangju world cup stadium was a nightmare for me.... yikes. let's also hope that school will go well this coming week yeah.
till next time x
