back!!
Monday, 25 December 2017 || 9:38 pm
hello pals i am back from laos and indonesia!!! i'll have a separate post for weetrip (hopefully if i am not lazy) so i'm gonna keep this post short.
on the 23rd, one day after i got back from laos, we went to balai. it had been a few years since we last visited our relatives there, and i felt a little weird and old, tbh. during our 3 days and 2 nights there, we didn't do anything much except for eating. indonesian food is really really good, it suits my tastebuds unexpectedly well. we also played with our little cousins who are not so little anymore :'-) surprisingly, they are more responsive now as compared to a couple of years ago. but some things don't change, like how they still do not like having their photos taken. got to eat my favourite kueh and pancakes as well as indomie mee goreng, laksa, bananas with cheese and chocolate, and their otah roti prata!! we really didn't do much there. if we were not going somewhere to eat, we were probably in the room playing mobile games. we also spent some time in an arcade for awhile where my basketball throwing skills were put to the test. also, the two oldest children understand a bit of english now because they learn that in school. the little baby, now 2 years old have grown and can actually climb stairs without having to hold the rails. it has really been some time since we went to indonesia. my sisters also went to batam while i was in laos, where they saw other cousins we haven't seen in a long time.
having been to indonesia many times since young, i didn't think that i would actually have feelings for this place. but after this visit after a long time, i feel that indonesia is a special place to me. it is a place where some of my childhood memories are created. i attended my second uncle's wedding there, and now his children are 11 and 9 years old respectively. i remember my third uncle speaking to his girlfriend on the phone at the balcony before, and now he has three children. though there is a decade-long age gap between me and my cousins who grow up in indonesia, i can still communicate with them with my very poor chinese, because they know chinese as well. kiddos, grow up well. i'll see you again soon.
till next time x
#VIXXinSG Shangri-La in Singapore
Thursday, 7 December 2017 || 12:56 am
it's vixx's third time coming to singapore, and we finally get to see them! my sister won tickets the night before and she is extremely grateful for the opportunity to see the sextet live after not being able to the past two times they were here.
vixx had an open press conference at 12pm of their show day. but people actually started queuing at the venue since 1am it is a bit crazy if you ask me. we went at around 8.30am and waited and waited all the way. it was really hot, a few people fainted/almost fainted (though it may be an excuse to get to see the boys from the media seats aka in front of the fans), and honestly, i just felt that it was not worth attending the press conference. first of all, the venue was in the middle of an industrial park, and it was held outdoors. gotta give the sponsors some points for taking care of our welfare though, they distributed bottled waters and sandwiches to the fans. we stood at the side, thinking that we can see the boys when they come out, but guess what- there was a platform right in front of us and it was apparently the designated area for the media to take photos and videos. so you guessed, we were facing butts the whole time. if i was lucky, i would be able to catch glimpses of n through the media people. it was a quite a short press conference, i couldn't really hear what happened on stage and i couldn't see anything. my sister had mosquito bites all over her legs. and i was just sweating buckets. but on the other hand, i saw wyna!! she actually saw us and said hi to us but i could not recognise her and just smiled and only later that day realised that it was her. HAHA sorry i'm the worst mutual.
we reached big box pretty early after having our lunch, so we queued for merch and just got a shirt. it's free sized and really big but i guess a shirt is the most practical merch you can get from a concert. we also went around collecting freebies like photocards and fans so yes, more added to our collection from sf9 and wannaone HAHAHA. ime and gain city had a miscommunication which was poorly handled, though. in the message to my sister sent close to midnight, gain city informed my sister that she won a pair of cat 2 tickets with photo opp. however, since we received the message really late last night, her details were not updated in the list. ime would notallow us to have photo opp, so they said we would get hi touch instead. we were fine with this change cos well, it was still a benefit. however, later when we got back, ime told us that since we were in cat 2, we would not be able to enjoy any benefits, not even when we were told we could get it. they said they would check back with gain city, but doors have opened, so we just went in. honestly disappointed with this whole situation. but oh well, at least we got to see vixx so many thanks to gain city for the opportunity! security was quite strict, comparable to pentagon's, so i had little to no fancam at all. :/ the fanchants were pretty decent, so good job starlights!! and highlight was the encore! when love equation played, someone from another category literally ran to the front, security tried to stop, but more people ran in front and we did too. we were near the side, but hyuk was there nearly the whole time and he kept waving to people.
I DON'T WANT TO BE DELUSIONAL BUT I THINK I ACTUALLY MADE EYE CONTACT WITH HYUK AT LEAST ONCE, cos i was holding a fanboard on one hand and video-ing on the other, trying to catch his attention at the same time. love love love the encore songs!!! but they didn't sing dynamite :-( all in all, it was a pretty fun but tiring day!
this is my third time this year attending a kpop fanmeet, and i really really hope that one day, when i'm independent enough, i will be able to buy tickets for myself instead of having to try my luck at giveaways. it's been almost two years since i got into kpop, and this is lasting longer than i expected it to be. my mum does not approve of this fangirl life at all, but i guess i gotta prove her that it's okay by balancing my studies, and social life. seventeen, astro, sf9, golden child, and all the other grooups that i am interested in, i'll be coming for you..... for now, in my dreams.
till next time x
